Crew Nation is here to support live music crews like you who are essential to the fabric of touring. You work behind the scenes to help artists and fans connect with the magic of live music, and we want to ensure you are taken care of.

We are here to provide you with as much support as possible. Whether that’s through monetary grants or the list of mental health resources we have compiled that are accessible globally, as well as some guidance on navigating social services in countries around the world.

GRANT AVAILABILITY: 

Crew Nation will provide $1000 grants to individuals who have worked as live music venue crew members and have: 

  • Lost income due to live music concerts being cancelled.   
  • Lost income due to damage or destruction of the venue employing them or  
  • Suffered hurricane damage or destruction to primary home or primary vehicle. 

Grant Eligibility for Hurricane Relief:  

  • Be an employee at a live music venue and earn 50% or more of their income from this field. Crew members include all  front of house and backstage staff that help bring concerts to life.   
  • Been employed in the live music industry for five or more years.   
  • Grant applicants must provide documentation of need in the form of an insurance claim, FEMA relief application or employer verification of damage to venue or cancelled shows.  
  • Grant applicants must provide a copy of their state identification or a passport.  

Please note: Musicians, singers, dancers and other performers are not eligible. 

For your employees to be eligible your company/venue's business must serve (50% or more) the live music industry. 

Ticket agencies, marketing or publicity agencies, and companies that serve private parties, corporate events and conferences or similar businesses are ineligible to submit their employees.

The Crew Nation general relief fund for musicians provides needs-based grants of up to $1000 to eligible individuals who work in the live music industry as musicians and are facing an eligible basic living expense or emergency expense they cannot pay that fit into the following categories: 

  • Housing: rent, mortgage, utilities
  • Critical medical expenses including doctor office visits, hospital bills, medical equipment or prescriptions, home health aide or services, mental or physical therapy for themselves and/or a dependent
  • Transportation cost including bus/rail passes or repair to their primary vehicle 
  • Food for household
  • Funeral cost of an immediate family member (i.e.-spouse or domestic partner, child or stepchild, parent, sibling)

To be eligible to apply for this grant, the applicant must:  

  • Earn 50% or more of their income as a musician and had at least one paid performance in the past twelve (12) months.  
  • Have worked as a musician with regular paid public performances for five (5) or more years.
  • Not receive government support of 50% or more of their income.
  • Not be receiving or have not received other grants or government support to cover the same costs submitted to Crew Nation.
  • Have a total income that does not exceed an average of $100k for individuals or $200k for families per year for the past two (2) years
  • Not have more than three (3) months in savings or income to cover their basic living expenses and/or current emergency expenses
  • Provide a copy of their state identification or a passport and other supporting documentation to show proof of US citizenship or residency.

Please note: submitting this application does not guarantee a grant. We prioritize applicants with the greatest need to ensure the funds reach those who require the most support.  Previous grantees can reapply for Crew Nation once every two years until a maximum $5,000 USD award is reached.
